    Description

    This wonderful little antique Japanese Meiji era cloisonné teapot is highly decorated and detailed with chevron shaped reserves featuring butterflies and flowers against green and dark blue  backgrounds enhanced with glittering copper flakes submerged in the in the cloisonné  enamel.  This copper glitter filled enamel also features in the background of the decoration of the top and lid of our piece which also feature flowers and leaves in the foreground.  The spout and handle of the piece have black backgrounds as does the areas surrounding the chevron designs.  Interspersed are heart shaped flowers, salmon colored fish scales and turquoise blue borders. The teapot is 3.5" tall and is 2 5/8" in diameter.  It is in good condition with a few very minor losses to the cloisonné.
