This listing is for a custom Large Scale Southern Pacific Camelback Locomotive No. 2282.  This engine started out as a Bachmann Spectrum 4-6-0 Ten Wheeler engine.  Barry’s Big Trains installed a BBT 4-6-0 drive in the engine in 2000.  In 2001, the engine was kit bashed by Jefferey Damherst of the Shawmut Car Shops into Southern Pacific 2282, based upon photos I provided to him.  The Southern Pacific only had one camelback locomotive on its roster during its entire history and Jeffery did his best to reflect that in his production of this model. Since that time the engine has only been test run a few times and has been on display as a part of my large scale collection.  The engine runs smoothly and is capable of pulling a large number of cars.  Cosmetically, the engine is the same as it was received from Barry and subsequently by Jefferey. There are some rough areas on the surfaces of some of the customized parts.  As far as I know, however, this is the only customized version of SP Camelback 2282 Jefferey ever produced.  Additionally, when Barry converted the drive, he also installed a switch that can be used to convert the engine to battery operation.  This switch is visible on top of the shroud covering the rear portion of the boiler and is visible in the closeup photo provided.  This switch was originally located inside the cab of the 4-6-0 Ten Wheeler.
