    Rarest
    of the bird-form (one of a set we have listed) teapots dates from the late Meiji period (1867-1911).  The teapot is realistically ,modeled as a Parrot with a removable top lid in the center section of the Parrot's back and spout mounted with the Parrot's mouth. Painted throughout with species features: coloring including variegated blue and green detailing around feathers. The eyes are a vibrant yellow.  The pine tree branches that make up the handle holders, are adorned with green sprigs of pine needles, and the lid is adorned with a pine cone finial
    . Exceptional detail throughout. Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or restorations. The original wicker handle is intact (these rarely survived intact). The overall width is 3.75" and height to the head is 2.25" (4.0" to the top of handle). This is a rare form, highly collectable and a great addition to any collection.
