    Description

Seattle World’s Fair Science Arches - Russ Gibb Collection.
These are 2 black & white photos (8x10) & (7 x 6) from the Seattle World's Fair in 1962.  The photos feature The Towering Arches of the U. S. Science Exhibit.  It also features Russ Gibb's 'guys' from the Civil Air Patrol.
The Century 21 Exposition was a world's fair held April 21, 1962, to October 21, 1962, in Seattle, Washington. Nearly 10 million people attended the fair.
As planned, the exposition left behind a fairground and numerous public buildings and public works; some credit it with revitalizing Seattle's economic and cultural life. The fair saw the construction of the Space Needle and Alweg monorail, as well as several sports venues (Washington State Coliseum, now climate Pledge Arena , currently under redevelopment) and performing arts buildings (the Playhouse, now the Cornish Playhouse, most of which have since been replaced or heavily remodeled. Unlike some other world's fairs of its era, Century 21 made a profit.
Other memorabilia in the photo is only proof it is from Russ Gibb's private collection and NOT included in the sale.
The will of Russ Gibb provided for this item to be sold to benefit the students of the Russ Gibb Digital Media Center - WDHS Studios located in Dearborn High School in Dearborn, Michigan.
One of several items from his private collection that will be sold.  WILL combine shipping.
