Description
For your consideration is a genuine 1920s Art Deco era, solid 18k white gold diamond filigree engagement ring, with an octagonal double-illusion head, and emerald-cut side diamonds. The mounting is stately and very nicely detailed, and the head around the diamond gives it the appearance of being much larger than it actually is.
The diamond set in the ring is a chunky transitional cut with a high table. It measures 3.5 x 2.3 mm deep, and is approximately .18 ct in size. It is accented on each side by a baguette diamond measuring 3 x 1.5 mm, approximately .10 ct each. The diamonds are graded as G color and VS on the sides and SI1 in the center, by our experienced estate jeweler. Total diamond weight is approximately .38 ctw.
The face measures 3/8" in diameter, and the head sits up 1/4" off the hand. The ring is hallmarked 18K. It weighs 2.1 grams, is a size 5.75 and is in very good vintage condition, especially given the age.
